Hey, I’m Hemapriya – a doctor-turned-entrepreneur who’s started (and abandoned) over 50 businesses. In this raw podcast, I reveal why the relentless search for your “life purpose” might be making you miserable. I share my personal journey through burnout, guilt, and the breakthrough moment that changed everything.

This podcast is for you if you have ADHD, multiple passions, or simply can’t stick to one thing without feeling trapped. I explain why embracing your “business nomad” nature could be your superpower, not your flaw.

Listen to discover why happiness, not purpose, should be your compass – and why that realization finally freed me after 10 years of searching. Perfect for multi-passionate creators tired of feeling broken by conventional success metrics.

Hey everyone, I am Hemapriya and welcome to my channel.

[0:00:06] Today I am going to share something that every one of you might be searching for relentlessly
[0:00:16] and tirelessly.
[0:00:18] What is that?
[0:00:19] Searching for the purpose of your life.
[0:00:22] I have been searching the purpose of my life for the last 10 years and I had a huge
[0:00:29] revelation in the last few months and I want to share my journey with you and how it affected me
[0:00:38] and how the world is making you to search a purpose of life that is not aligned with you. So stay
[0:00:47] with me, I will show you why searching the purpose of the life is not the way to live your life.
[0:00:59] Okay, so what is this about?
[0:01:01] So I’m a doctor by profession and after my kids were born, I couldn’t continue my
[0:01:09] doctor profession and so I switched on to an entrepreneur.
[0:01:13] The whole journey of my entrepreneurship is accidental because I started a blog and from there,
[0:01:19] I went into an e-commerce business and after the first business, I created another business,
[0:01:25] then another business.
[0:01:27] So every time I create a business, I used to have a spark of joy, excitement and everything.
[0:01:33] But once the business has studied and there are a few sales into it and everything I got deflated.
[0:01:40] I was not at all interested in pursuing the business.
[0:01:44] But then in e-commerce, we have the stock and everything.
[0:01:47] So I had to pursue the business and I set up systems and then made the people to work on it,
[0:01:54] made my employees to work on it, made my team to work on it.
[0:01:56] Then I got bored again.
[0:01:59] I started a lot of affiliate marketing, digital PDF, so many things.
[0:02:04] There were a lot of failures in them.
[0:02:07] And until now I have started failed and succeeded in more than 50 plus businesses.
[0:02:14] That’s crazy, right? Yes.
[0:02:16] So I was doing all this and then the coaching thing hit me.
[0:02:21] Okay, I want to be a coach.
[0:02:23] And when I wanted to become a coach, everybody were telling,
[0:02:27] “Teach what you know the best.”
[0:02:29] So I knew Ecoma’s the best.
[0:02:32] So I started a coaching business.
[0:02:35] I am a coaches perfect client because I follow everything a coach says.
[0:02:42] So I enrolled into a coach and whatever he said, like everything I created a new
[0:02:48] business, I even took a photo shoot that I didn’t like, which I thought I liked
[0:02:52] then but now I hate that photo shoot full of makeup and everything. I did everything he told.
[0:02:58] And when I launched my e-commerce coaching academy wherein I helped people to start a new e-commerce
[0:03:06] business, I helped women to start a new e-commerce business. And there were more than 60 plus women
[0:03:11] in my community and just a handful of them were able to start the e-commerce business because others
[0:03:17] had a lot of problems in their life. Like they were they were moms, they had to they were
[0:03:23] juggling a lot of things. So they were not able to and I took that as a personal failure.
[0:03:28] I thought okay I’m not going to help people who don’t have a business. I’m going to help
[0:03:33] e-commerce business owners who already have a business. So I did that and the results were
[0:03:40] amazing 300 plus revenue growth and everything. I had at one time 10 plus one to one clients
[0:03:48] for whom I was doing everything consulting done for you services everything for three months
[0:03:55] and that’s it the burnt out hit me hard though they were experiencing enormous results and even
[0:04:03] I was happy with that. I was not entirely happy myself because deep underneath I was not
[0:04:10] loving what I do. What I love is creating new businesses, the excitement, the rush of
[0:04:18] dopamine and all those things. I was missing them so badly. So I thought, let me take a
[0:04:24] small break. I took a break. I stopped onboarding new clients. I finished all the existing
[0:04:30] clients but still the break was not over. I was I was still not ready to start my e-commerce
[0:04:37] coaching business again. My coach e-commerce coach was coaching me to coach others was shocked.
[0:04:45] You have made more than $25 in this in just four months. Why do you want to quit it?
[0:04:52] but I didn’t have the feeling to do it. So I couldn’t take one step ahead. I had to stop there.
[0:05:01] I was in a limbo for four months. I consulted so many people. I consulted a mindset coach. I
[0:05:08] consulted an ADHD coach. So many people and then the twist came with the form of a book.
[0:05:15] It is by refuse to choose by Barbara Sher. If you haven’t read it, please go and read it.
[0:05:22] It is the best book for ADHD people who have multiple passions, ideas and businesses.
[0:05:28] It was an amazing book.
[0:05:31] When I read that book, I finally found my purpose of my life.
[0:05:37] And what do you think is my purpose of my life?
[0:05:41] My purpose of my life is to be happy.
[0:05:46] And I was chasing something that was giving me financial strength.
[0:05:53] People I I was put up in lot of articles and everything I had the fame, but I was not happy.
[0:05:59] I wanted to do something else and to do something else.
[0:06:04] What I need to embrace myself is my own uniqueness, which is my ADHD super power, my hyper focus.
[0:06:14] I am a business nomad.
[0:06:16] I keep jumping from business to business and that’s what I do and that’s what is my happiness.
[0:06:23] That’s what brings my joy. I know I have a lot of guilt in me because I have abandoned so many
[0:06:29] businesses and yet this is what is going to keep me happy and I wouldn’t find the purpose of my life
[0:06:37] ever because if I’m not going to be happy and do things that I think is the purpose of my life and
[0:06:45] and get stuck in that and not able to get out of it,
[0:06:48] then what is the purpose of living the life, right?
[0:06:52] So I think the purpose of everyone’s life is to be happy.
[0:06:57] Do whatever you want.
[0:07:00] Jump from business idea to business idea.
[0:07:03] Do whatever you want, but make sure it’s giving you joy.
[0:07:08] It’s parking the joy in you.
[0:07:10] If it is not sparking joy,
[0:07:13] then you are not in the right position, right career, right business at least.
[0:07:19] I know jumping from business to business,
[0:07:21] leaving down abandoned business is very scary.
[0:07:25] And that’s why I am thinking to help those people
[0:07:28] who are in the same phase of life as me,
[0:07:31] or same like me, like jumping from business idea to business idea,
[0:07:35] not completing anything,
[0:07:36] feeling so much guilty that they were not able to finish anything,
[0:07:40] to help them, trust themselves and create something for themselves that they can work on and be happy yet jump from the world.
